Announced in spring 2007 DMT SERENDIPITY AWARDS are intended to fund the testing of an idea which comes from an unexpected clinical or laboratory observation, or from well-grounded practice, to obtain proof of concept.

They are not awarded as a form of pump priming. Unlike other research funding SERENDIPITY AWARDS need not of necessity involve work around ageing and associated issues.

These awards may therefore include activity that may fall outside the main focus of The DUNHILL MEDICAL TRUST’s work but which has the potential to convince other funding bodies to take the idea forward.
